Love's Dark Reflection #lovepoetry #poetrydaily #poemaday

Love was never a heartbeat. It was the echo left behind after the heart forgot why it was still beating. It arrived wearing another person's face, its hands stitched together from promises that had already begun to rot. I welcomed it. Not because it was kind, but because loneliness knows how to mistake a wolf for warmth. Every smile it offered cast a longer shadow. Every whispered "forever" fed another ghost sleeping beneath my ribs. The thought of love is a clever liar. It builds cathedrals from broken mirrors, then asks us to kneel before our own reflections, calling the illusion destiny. How eagerly we obey. We water flowers that grow from graves, write poems to people who never truly existed, and embrace memories still unborn. Love watches. Silent. Patient. Like a spider waiting in the center of a web woven from hope. It never forces us inside. It simply lets us believe the silver threads are rays of morning light. By the time we understand, the sky has forgotten our ...

Between Two Hearts #familypoetry #lovepoetry #poetryaddict

He wore a faithful ring, A quiet promise, a sacred thing. Years had woven threads so deep, In vows once sworn, in dreams asleep. Then fate arrived with gentle grace, A stranger's smile, a familiar face. No storm announced what came to be, Just whispered tides upon the sea. He fought the warmth that slowly grew, For love was never something he pursued. Yet every glance became a flame, And nothing inside remained the same. Confusion knocked without a sound, Leaving scattered thoughts all around. One heart held history, roots, and years; The other awakened forgotten cheers. He questioned dawn, he questioned night, Searching wrong, searching right. Could two souls call the same heart home? Or must one always walk alone? The weight of guilt, the pull of desire, Ashes resting beside a new fire. No easy answer, no simple way, Only emotions refusing to fade. His marriage carried memories dear, Built through laughter, hope, and tears. Yet something new had softly grown, A love that bloomed ...

The Hunter of Strong Hearts #sadpoetry #freeverse

He walks with a smile that shines like the sun, telling sweet stories to everyone. His words are polished, his manners refined, but hidden intentions sit deep in his mind. He searches for women who stand on their own, who built their dreams from seeds they had sown. The ladies who struggled, who weathered the rain, who carried their burdens through hardship and pain. He praises their courage, their strength and their grace, while quietly plotting to take their safe place. His compliments sparkle, his promises flow, like rivers that seem deep but are shallow below. He says, "You're amazing, the strongest I've seen," yet envies the kingdom she built in between. The independent lady believes in his care, until she discovers there's emptiness there. For he loved the harvest, but never the field. He wanted the treasure, not wounds that had healed. And when she grows weary of carrying two, his affection fades like the morning dew. He leaves without warning, without look...

You, Despite All #romanticpoetry

Despite the distance, despite the silence, despite the unanswered questions that linger between us, my heart still finds its way to you. Not to the memory of you. Not to the dream of who you could be. But to you. Despite all. Despite the nights I told myself to let go. Despite the reasons that whispered, "Move on." Despite the walls that life built between us. My heart remains stubborn. It still searches for your voice in crowded rooms. Still pauses when your name appears. Still carries a space shaped only for you. I have met many sunsets, watched many seasons change, and walked through countless days pretending that longing could simply disappear. But it never did. Because some people become more than a memory. They become part of the rhythm of your soul. And you... despite all the complications, despite all the uncertainty, despite all the ways life has tried to pull us in different directions— are still the person my heart calls home. I do not love you because everything i...
